A practical campaign guide
Advent calendar marketing with a reason to return.
An advent calendar marketing campaign turns a seasonal promotion into a sequence of reasons to visit. Start with a useful goal, choose content you can deliver and give every door a clear purpose.

1. Decide what the campaign is for.
Choose one main goal before filling the calendar. You might introduce a Christmas collection, help customers choose gifts or bring attention to a product range that needs more explanation. A specific goal makes it easier to decide which offers belong in the sequence and which can wait.
For a small business, a focused seven-day campaign can be a sensible starting point. You need fewer assets, can give each reveal more attention and have less stock planning to coordinate. Expand the countdown only when you have enough useful content and the time to check it before launch.
2. Mix content with incentives.
Use several types of reveal: a product introduction, a gift guide, a useful explanation, a bundle already sold by your shop and an occasional code. The variety gives people something to discover even when they are not ready to place an order that day.
Write the customer benefit for each door in one sentence. If that sentence sounds identical across the sequence, revisit the content mix. A campaign does not need an escalating discount every day. Thoughtful product selection and clear guidance can make the experience more helpful while keeping incentives within your budget.
3. Put dates and fulfilment on the same plan.
Map the reveals against stock availability, delivery cut-offs and the dates your team can support orders. Introduce long-lead products early. After your shipping deadline, only promote collection, digital products or services if your business can actually fulfil them.
Choose the campaign start date and timezone in Setup, then assign dates to your offers. Keep your offer terms aligned with the rules in your checkout. Revealing a code on a particular date does not automatically configure its expiry, minimum spend or usage limit in the shop where customers redeem it.
4. Give the calendar a clear route to customers.
Prepare your launch email, website link and social posts alongside the calendar content. Explain what the campaign is, when the first door opens and what customers can expect. After publication, use the same calendar link across those channels so there is one destination to return to.
Use your existing email and social tools for campaign communications. The builder does not send a newsletter sequence or collect competition entries. If your goal is an email signup or booking, link to the relevant form in your own system and check that the journey makes sense before promoting it.
5. Preview the whole customer journey.
Review the branded calendar in preview, then open each reveal and read it as a customer would. Check images, product names, codes, terms and button labels. Test the destination pages in your shop, including any discount codes or booking forms that the campaign depends on.
Decide how you will review the campaign using tools you already have. Distinct offer codes and tagged destination links can help you distinguish campaign activity in your shop or analytics platform. Do not assume that a visit proves a sale or that the calendar includes a built-in revenue attribution dashboard.

Gift discovery
Seven days, seven good starting points.
Curate a different gifting need for each reveal. Link to relevant products and explain your selections so customers can move from inspiration to a shortlist.
Collection launch
Introduce the range a little at a time.
Reveal the story behind individual products before bringing them together in a final collection edit. Use dates that fit your actual launch and availability.
Customer appreciation
A seasonal thank-you.
Mix useful content with a small number of offers your existing customers will recognise as relevant. Keep the terms clear and the fulfilment manageable.
Before your
first reveal.
Use a mix of product stories, gift guides, useful advice and offers. Start with your campaign goal and available stock, then give each door a clear benefit and next step.
No. You can use images, rich-text descriptions and destination links without a code. Introduce products or explain a range, then add selected incentives where they make sense.
Use the builder to set up your calendar, customise its appearance and add dated offers. Preview for free, then pay once to publish. Share the published link through the channels you already use.
